Personal Statement Series
One Idea

Part 1 Brainstorming- One Idea

To help you, I've developed some questions you can research in your sketchbook:
1. What ideas/themes have you been exploring so far?
2. What is one thing that all of the artworks works have in common?
3. Research 3 artists that work with the same theme or idea that all of your works have in common.
3. What media are you most comfortable with?
4. What media are you least comfortable with?

Part 2: Sketch of Concept, 4 illustrations in 2 D

After researching the selected artistic concept, de-materialize your concept in a series of 4 works "on paper".  The media is open, as is the composition and subject as long as it relates to your concept.

You are to make a sculpture of your concept that permeates the 3-dimensional realm.

Part 4: Time Based Concept

How will you have your viewer interact with your concept? Through video? Through experience? Through installation? So that your viewer might understand your concept in full, complete a time based response to your concept.
