Image Structure

​Objective:The student will research image structure via demonstrating  aesthetics and composition, researching concept art  and composing a unique image which grasps color theory. 
Assessment: The student will partake in informal assessment, with one-on-one conversations with the teacher. At the conclusion of the project they will also partake in a formal and reflective critique in Schoology.

Goal:
The student will create a catalog of organic shapes derived from negative space in nature.The student will create an abstract composition that combines matte and wash techniques. The composition must be 40% matte.

II. Color Theory

Color Wheel Design and Color Swatches

Description: Using the Color Wheel the students will illustrate a series of wheels and spheres that capture tints and shades Following this, the students will select a series of paint chips which they have to match the color exactly.

Goal:
The student will create a sphere from four points of view and generate a color globe in acrylic paint.

III. Color Swatch Still life

Using their knowledge of color theory and composition, the student will show understanding of using acrylic by generating their own still life and create a series of color swatches to represent their still life.

IV. "Isolation" Acrylic Landscape and Concept Art

Research the Following Concepts:

Middle Ground
Back Ground
Isolation

Goal:With acrylic paint, the student will create a landscape of at least 5 layers. The image should implement the use of foreground, Middle Ground, Background. The student will invent a structure to place in their isolated environment.
